Frequently asked questions

The things merchants ask us most often before and after installing. Still stuck? Talk to us.

Getting started

How does Inflowkit fit into my Shopify store?
Inflowkit installs as a Shopify app. You build courses in the Shopify admin, and your students view them on your own domain at /a/courses — served through the Shopify App Proxy. There is no separate platform and no second checkout: students buy with your existing Shopify products, prices and payment methods.
Do my customers need a second account?
No. Students sign in with the same Shopify customer account they use to shop with you. If you would rather not require an account at all, you can switch on guest access so buyers reach their course straight from the order confirmation.
Do I have to change my theme?
No, but you do need to switch on the Inflowkit app embed in your published theme. It is a one-click toggle in the Shopify theme editor, and the app's setup checklist links you straight to it. If your course pages show as locked or empty, an inactive app embed is the first thing to check.
Which themes are supported?
Inflowkit works with any Shopify theme that supports app embeds, which covers all Online Store 2.0 themes. If a storefront block does not sit correctly in your theme, send us the theme name and we will add support for it.

Selling and billing

Can I sell recurring memberships?
Yes. Inflowkit uses Shopify's native subscriptions, so recurring charges run on Shopify's own billing and appear in your normal Shopify orders. You can pause, resume, cancel and edit a member's subscription from the app.
Can customers update their own payment card?
Yes. Subscribers manage their payment method from their Shopify customer account, which is also where they can view and cancel their plan.
Can I sell access for a fixed period, like 3 or 12 months, without a subscription?
Yes. A one-time product can grant access that expires after a set number of days, so you can sell a 90-day or 12-month course without putting the customer on a recurring plan.
Can I give someone free access without a payment?
Yes. You can enrol a member manually from the admin, or import a list of members by CSV. This is how most merchants handle comped seats, staff, beta testers and scholarship students.
What does the transaction fee on the free plan mean?
The Lite plan costs nothing per month. Instead it charges 3.5% + 19¢ on sales made through the app, capped at $299 in any month. Every paid plan removes that fee entirely, so once your course revenue is steady a flat plan is usually cheaper.
Do you have an affiliate programme for my course?
Not yet. Inflowkit does not have built-in affiliate tracking today, so merchants who need it pair us with a dedicated Shopify affiliate app. It is on our roadmap and it is one of the most requested features we hear.

Content and video

Where are my videos hosted?
On paid plans we host and stream your video for you, so it cannot be downloaded from the page. You can also embed YouTube or Vimeo on any plan, including the free one. For YouTube, use Unlisted rather than Private — Private videos cannot be played by anyone but the account owner, which is the usual reason an embedded video appears blank.
What can a lesson contain?
Video, audio, PDFs, presentations, downloadable files, ebooks, rich text, and quizzes. A single course can mix all of them.
Can I drip content on a schedule?
Yes, on the Basic plan and above. Lessons unlock a set number of days after a student enrols, and students are emailed when new content becomes available.
Can I run live classes?
Yes, on the Basic plan and above. Zoom meetings and webinars are created from inside a lesson, with registration, reminders and recordings handled for you.
Can I issue certificates?
Yes, on the Basic plan and above. You design the certificate in the app and choose what triggers it, such as finishing a course or passing a quiz. Uploading a finished certificate design of your own is not supported yet.
Can I sell my course in another language?
The student-facing interface can be translated, so buttons, labels and emails appear in your language. Course content itself is whatever you upload, so you control the language of your lessons. Full per-language course variants are on the roadmap.

Running your programme

Can I see how students are progressing?
Yes. You can see per-member progress through each course, including which lessons are complete and quiz results.
Can visitors preview my courses before buying?
Yes. Course landing pages are public and SEO-indexable, so prospective students can read what is inside before they sign in or pay. Individual lessons can also be marked public if you want to give a free sample.
Can I bundle several courses together?
Yes, on the Standard plan and above. Learning paths let you sell a group of courses as a single programme with its own order and completion rules.
What happens to my courses if I uninstall?
Your course content is deleted when the app is removed, and your students lose access. Export your member list and keep your own copies of your videos and files before uninstalling.
